We used a architect specialized in bioclimatic buildings to help us design our home "perfect".
After meeting with three architects whose approach was totally different, we decided to work with Frederick Myotte of Homes Héliès (Allier-agency Myotte). Indeed, his attitude to our problems seemed most sensible.
Here is an outline of his approach:
1. Field
He first learned about our field to know its exact orientation, the direction of the slope, soil type, vegetation that surrounds ... It is very important that this be discussed at the outset because the whole project is built according to the ground. If an architect or a builder offers a low-energy building without even knowing where you are going to implement it I advise you to flee by running:)
2. Our desires
Then he asked us to prepare a list of priorities by our wishes.
For that we should not focus on the volumes or their organization, but the use we make of it. For example you should not say that we wanted large rooms for children, but rather the need how to put an office, a closet and a bed of Xml YCM wide.
So here's what it was like initial list of our desires that we gave him point by point, explaining our reasons and motives.
3. Interpretation and signing
From this list, our architect told us how he saw the location of the house:
- storey
- slightly L
- main direction south garage and annex the North / East
- all set the highest possible field to optimize the view.
From these simple elements we had to decide if we wanted to work with him or not.
It was the most complicated step because we had to trust and signed the contract before Mr. Myotte not realize the first full version of our plans. That said, after 5 appointments and the various visits made on the ground we did not doubt the professionalism of this agency. So we started and yet we do not regret anything.
4. First sketch
Once we signed our commitment waited a few weeks before discovering first outline our plans .
